Well readers if you know anything about Georgetown, you know that the title of this blog is the first line of our fight song! Yes I am back! I moved all my stuff in and made a magnificent Target run yesterday. It was completely exhausting! Thanks to the help of Demetria moving in was much easier.
My quaint, in other words small-ish, room is decorated and has been transformed into a cozy home! I love it! It is packed full with my stuff including my Friends and Patrick Dempsey posters. I am pretty sure that the air conditioning is broken but we are working on that and in the meantime I have a super powerful fan!
My roommate Skye also moved in yesterday. I can't wait for this year because we are gonna have a lot of fun!
Georgetown is just the same as I left it, but it feels so great to be back, even though it was sad to say goodbye to summer and my parents, who are on the road toward Massachusetts as I write. The next two days are pretty chill, except I have a softball meeting tomorrow night to kick off the year!
School starts on Wednesday. I am taking: History of Ireland, Community Psychology, 1st Christians/Christians Today, Modern Astronomy, and Intro to Justice and Peace Studies. Quite an eclectic bunch of classes so it should be pretty interesting.
It has been so fun to see some of my peeps but I can't wait to catch up with everyone that I have missed over the summer! Gotta love Georgetown!

Chicago and Kaitlyn!
Hello!
So my mom and I went to Chicago last week to visit Heath and Thais. They were moving on Saturday and they still had a lot of packing to do so we helped them pack some of their stuff. We also ate some amazing brunch two of the days we were there! It was a great time and I am really glad we were there to kick Heath's butt into gear so he could keep packing. I always love going to Chicago and I would love to live there one day. It is an amazing city!
The day after we got back from Chicago, my friend Kaitlyn was suppose to come visit, but of course the Massachusetts weather had a different plan. There were tornado warnings and suppose to be major thunder storms so her flight got canceled. She ended up coming in that afternoon. We made our famous pasta for dinner and then just hung out the rest of the night. On Sunday we went to church and then spontaneously decided to head up to Maine again! Well most of you will remember that there was a hurricane off the coast last weekend and unfortunately that made Maine unbelievably humid! So that was no fun but it was beautiful anyways! Then we went back home and played a game of Phase 10, which Kaitlyn won.. ugh!! The next day we all worked out and then got ready to go to a Red Sox game. The game was very fun, but once again Boston had amazingly humid weather so that sucked! We headed back on the train and didn't get home until around midnight! The next day was a chill day because she had to leave in the early afternoon. We watched Friends most of the day and now I have converted Kaitlyn into a Friends fan as well! It was really sad to say goodbye and I wish that she lived closer so that I could see her more often!
So now i only have two days until I head back to DC!! That means I have SO much to do!! haha so I should get going.... My next update will be from the amazing school of Georgetown University!! Hoya Saxa!!

The Olympic Joke....
It's crazy that the summer is going to be over in two weeks. I am feeling bittersweet about my return to the hilltop because I want to see my friends and get back into my much loved routine, but it has been very nice to have a summer to relax and enjoy.
In other news, the IOC has decided that softball is not good enough to be included in the list of sports for the 2016 Olympics. Apparently the USA dominates too much! WHAT THE CRAP?!? I mean hello? Did the IOC not do their job or did they just forget that the USA softball team earned the silver medal, falling to the very competitive Japan Olympic team in the finals. Softball has only been in the Olympics since 1996 so it is not surprising that only a couple teams dominate the scene! Anyways.. I obviously think that it was a bad decision, but I am sure the Rugby and Golf players are celebrating! So enough of my ranting...
Heading to Chicago tomorrow and then hosting Kaitlyn in the fabulous Shrewsbury! Hoping to end my amazing summer off with a bang! :)

Maine!
Hey readers,
I sit here typing this in the comfort of my own living room, only barely escaping the disgusting weather that surrounded me outside. I have decided that humidity is not my friend, in fact we are enemies. Humidity is evil, not only does it ruin a good hair day, but it causes things in my house to grow mold (Mold is another enemy but that is for another post) and it tries to suffocate and drown me in sweat every time I step outside. So I have just decided to unfriend humidity.
On to a new topic that is more relevant to my life and probably more interesting to you. A few days ago my parents and I traveled only an hour and a half north of good old Shrewsbury and landed pleasantly in Ogunquit, Maine. I never think of Maine as being a good vacation spot, seeing as I did move from one of the biggest US vacations spots so we never really felt the need to travel elsewhere. Actually whenever I thought of Maine I always thought of seafood, which i don't like, and freezing cold weather, which is never really a good addition to a vacation unless you are climbing Everest. Needless to say I left for Maine with no real expectations.
As we drove through Massachusetts then New Hampshire and finally into Maine, the scenery looked more and more inviting and quaint. I had fallen in love with Maine at first sight. I should clarify, this is not an unconditional love because I will not be visiting Maine in the middle of winter nor will I venture far off the coast of Maine, although I am sure there is beauty away from the coast.
We only stayed for Thursday and half of Friday but I had such a great time. The beautiful coast and quaint, friendly towns rivaled the beauty of the great state of California. I know, I know blasphemy, but don't worry California is still my favorite it just has some competition now. I could see myself living there in the summers. That is after I marry a millionaire because there is no way I would be able to afford any house in that area, but I can dream!
These and many more were taking on this great adventure! It was very refreshing and a good way to finish out the summer. Going to Georgetown soon and I can't wait to get back on the hilltop!

California Trip in a Nutshell
So my hair is a mess, I am somewhat dizzy and I can barely walk straight... Well, not really but those are probably some of the symptoms of being caught in a tornado, which I feel like I have. My California trip lasted about ten days; it felt like a year, but went by so fast! I had so much fun and have probably 500 pictures so instead of putting you through the bore of all of them I will give it to you in the nutshell version! (I already talked about Day one and two at Jill's house... I will pick up at Day 3)
It was Katie's birthday so we went to Disneyland! Yay!

Twinkle twinkle little star.....
“Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 18:3
My 2-year-old niece, Maddie, reminded me of this verse today. Nana and I have been visiting for the past two days and already Maddie and Eva have brought so much joy into our lives. Maddie is growing up and learning things by the minute. Time moves so quickly that sooner rather than later she is going to be a young lady. But for now she is just a little girl, and a cute one at that.
Back to the verse... Maddie was getting ready for bed the first night and Nana suggested going out and looking at the stars before reading the nightly bedtime story. Of course Maddie thought this was a great idea. She always likes any excuse to go outside and lay on her picnic blanket. So we gathered up the blanket and the tired Maddie and headed out to the back yard. We all laid down side by side and gazed at the stars. We sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and picked which star was "ours" for the night. After all of this we laid there quietly until Nana asked Maddie "Who made the stars?" In her cute voice she said "God and Jesus made the stars Nana." Maddie loved the stars and she was in awe of them. And at that very moment so was I.
There are not many times when I really take time and look at the stars let alone take time away from things like the computer or my cellphone. When my niece answered in her matter of fact tone "God and Jesus made the stars Nana" I was struck with this indescribable awe. God used that little girl to talk to me and show me the importance of admiring his creation and slowing down my life.
Jesus always admire and wanted to be near the young children. They are the ones who are willing to listen and believe what is being said. We lose this naivete in our maturity. While this maturing process helps us discern right from wrong, it also hinders our view of faith. There is nothing wrong with doubting and analyzing our beliefs but we must approach it with the humility of a child because we truly don't know anything. When I look at my faith I want to feel humble like I did sitting next to my niece under the vast night sky of stars.
"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." Mark 10:14
