I am not going to try and catch you up on every detail of my life between the time that I stopped updating this blog and this point because I don't think I could remember it all and it would take too long. So... I am going to try and do an overview.
So I left you when my team had just finished our first conference games against Pitt and USF. Needless to say the Hoyas had a rough beginning to their Big East debut. As the season progressed though we grew as a team and begun winning close games. We ended up sweeping UConn and St. Johns, splitting with Syracuse, Providence, Villanova, Rutgers and going into extra innings with at least five teams, including nationally ranked (#15) Louisville. Our season was a success even though we fell short of making it to the Big East tournament. We are hopeful for next season and anticipating a tournament appearance. I enjoyed surprising all of the Big East teams who didn't think anything of Georgetown! We made a statement that we were arriving in the Big East and the other teams should be on their toes. Seeing the team rise to the occasion was awesome and I love all of my teammates!
At the end of this season I found out that I was awarded Third Team All Big East which was very exciting because I am a freshman and I felt proud to be able to represent Georgetown in the Big East awards. On another note, we had to say goodbye to our only senior Christina and I am going to miss her soooooo much. And we also shockingly found out that our assistant coach is leaving too, to get her PhD. which is awesome but the team won't be the same without her.
Outside of softball, which let me tell you consisted of a very small percentage of life in the spring, I tried to not stress over school but sometimes failed. Finals were tough this semester but I made it through them without any major casualities. It was interesting because in two of my classes, my final paper was about my family history. I really enjoyed researching facts and stories I had never know about my extended family so that made writing those two papers much better, but nothing could make writing a philosophy paper better at all.
Well this last weekend I moved out of my dorm room with the help of my mom and then we roadtripped it up to Shrewsbury, Mass where I will be spending most of my summer. It has been relaxing and I am hoping to get a lot done... we will see if that happens. That is my update here are some pictures from the season and from Mother's Day in Dupont Circle..
